By |February 4th, 2013

Larry, from Brady, Texas sent us these photos of the horseshoe pits that he built for a ranch in the Heart of Texas. Larry’s been a carpenter and re-modeler for 43 years and had no trouble building the pits using the information on the website. Great job Larry !

In case you aren’t as skilled as Larry and need a little more direction in building your own backyard set of pits consider purchasing the woodworking plans with detailed drawings and set by step instructions. The plans are now available on the Downloadable Woodworking Plans page.

Dennis sent us these pictures of the tack trunk and grooming tote that he created using our plans for a friend’s daughter for Christmas. Dennis used spalted maple for the trim, shelf, and sliding tray. The grooming tote he created using clear pine. Dennis told us that he felt the plans were easy to follow and he really enjoyed making the trunk and thanked us for creating the plans. Thanks Dennis for sending us pictures of the tack trunk that you created and for the wonderful comments!

China Cabinet

By |January 28th, 2013

So … What has The Kraftsman been up to lately you ask ?

One of my daughters was married late last year and I told her that I would like to build something for her and her husband. I asked her what she would like and her answer was that they could use a china cabinet to hold some of the wedding gifts that they were expecting.

It got slightly busy around here around Christmas and New Years, but things have started to quiet down so I’ve had time to start working on the cabinet. I like to do a simulated build using Google Sketchup so that I can iron out the trouble spots and even make a few changes here […]

Customer Showcase – Rosanna’s Tack Trunk

By |January 14th, 2013

Rosanna was the Kyserike Kraftsman’s very first customer. She was browsing the internet looking for tack trunk plans and came across our website. At the time we had some blog entries about the tack trunk, but didn’t offer any plans for sale. Rosanna was willing to wait a few weeks until we could finish up the plans and make them available. It’s only fitting that we include the trunk that Rosanna created in our customer showcase area.

Customer Showcase – Bob’s Tack Trunk

By |January 11th, 2013

Bob from Illinois sent us these pictures of the fine looking tack trunk that he created for his daughter using our tack trunk plans. He used white oak planks joined together by biscuits and trimed in cherry. Rather than staining he used a satin varnish to keep the wood’s natural color. According to Bob, this was the first time he had tried anything of this detail with wood. Great job Bob. I’m sure your daughter will love it !
