I’ve been busy throughout the fall and the holiday season updating the workshop and creating Christmas gifts. Check out the updated Workshop page to see what’s new there, and the Completed Projects pages for details on the latest creations from The Kraftsman!
Since finishing the jewelry chest I’ve been working on learning how to use Sketch-up to build 3D models of my designs. This is a great tool and it helped to make the building of the solar heater platform for the pool a snap. I’ve also used it to design the decking for our pool, and a flip top cabinet for my new planer. I’ve updated the site with some of the new projects and some of the new tools in the workshop. Enjoy !
It’s been quiet here on the web page, but not in the workshop! Since the beginning of February I’ve been working on this jewelry chest to give to my mom for her 70th birthday. It’s made from some black walnut that my Dad had rough cut over 25 years ago. The web page for this project has all the details and a few shots of the finished gift.
I finished sanding the cabinet tonight and the Transtint dye stain is due to be delivered tomorrow so maybe I’ll start the finishing work on the cabinet this weekend. I added the little chat window to the home page since my daughter wanted me to add some kind of blog page so she could leave me messages. Feel free to add some comments! I’ve started another project, but it’s a surprise so I wont be posting any info on this until it’s done … sorry 🙁
